How we work

Editorial and medical review policy

This editorial policy explains who writes the health pages on this site, how two registered dentists check them before they go live, which sources we trust, and how we keep facts dated and up to date.

In short

  • Every health page names a dentist author from our team.
  • Two dentists registered with the Nepal Medical Council check each health page before it goes live.
  • Facts come from health bodies, guidelines and Nepali law, and each fact has a date.
  • Drafts may be prepared with AI tools, but a dentist checks every word before it goes live.
  • We take no paid content, no sponsors and no money for mentions.

Who writes our pages

Each health page is written by a dentist from our team, and the page names that dentist as the author. You can read about each dentist, their degrees and their Nepal Medical Council (NMC) number on our dentists page.

Pages that are not about health, such as this one or our privacy policy, are written by our clinic team and checked by the clinic’s management.

How each health page is checked before it goes live

We use a two-person check on every page about health, treatment or cost.

  1. The author writes the page from a written plan that lists the questions patients ask and the sources to use.
  2. A second dentist reviews it. They check every clinical fact against its source, check that risks and other options are shown fairly, and correct anything that is wrong or unclear.
  3. Both are registered dentists. Both the author and the reviewer must be on the NMC register.
  4. The page shows the dates. Each health page shows when it was first published, when it was last updated and when it was last reviewed.

Until a page has had its review, it does not go live.

Which sources we use

We use the most reliable source we can find, in this order:

Order Type of source Examples
1 Laws, regulators and public health bodies Nepal laws, Nepal Medical Council, WHO, NHS, CDC, NICE
2 Systematic reviews and guidelines Cochrane reviews, international guidelines
3 Professional bodies Dental associations and federations
4 Single studies Peer-reviewed research, with its limits stated
5 Nepali news and clinic price pages Only for local context and price ranges, never for clinical facts

We link to the source next to the fact where a number is used, and we list the main sources at the end of the page.

How we date facts

Some facts change, such as prices, laws and insurance rules. For these we show an “as of” date on the page, for example “as of October 2026”. Prices on our prices page carry the date they were last set. Any price on the site is a guide; the real cost depends on what a dentist finds when they examine you.

How we use AI tools

Some drafts on this site are prepared with the help of AI writing tools. We use them to help organise research and write first drafts. We do not trust them for facts.

Before any page goes live, a dentist reads the whole page, checks each fact against its source, adds their own clinical experience and fixes anything that is wrong. We never use AI to make up people, patient stories, reviews, photos of patients or photos of our team.

Independence and conflicts of interest

  • No sponsored content. No company pays for a mention, a link or a place on any page.
  • No gifts for mentions. We do not accept gifts from makers of dental products in return for writing about them.
  • Our own services. This is the website of a dental clinic, so pages about treatments describe services we offer. We say so plainly, we show other options fairly, and we do not compare ourselves with other clinics.
  • Declared interests. If an author or reviewer has a personal or financial link to anything a page discusses, it is stated on that page.

The Nepal Medical Council’s Code of Ethics also limits what a clinic may say about itself. We follow it: no claims of being the best, no promises about results and no offers.

How to check a dentist’s registration

Anyone can check whether a dentist is registered with the Nepal Medical Council:

  1. Open the NMC’s registered doctor search.
  2. Type the dentist’s full name or NMC number.
  3. Check that the name, number and degree match what the dentist told you.

How often we review pages

Type of content When we check it
Prices, insurance rules and laws Every month, and straight away if the source changes
Treatment and health pages At least every 12 months
Everything else Every 6 months

We change the “updated” date only when the content changes in a way that matters, and we say what changed.

If you find a mistake

Please tell us. Our corrections policy explains how to report an error and what we do next.

Questions people ask

Are your pages a substitute for seeing a dentist?
No. Our pages are general information to help you understand your options. A dentist needs to examine you to know what is right for your teeth.
Do you use AI to write your pages?
Some drafts are prepared with the help of AI tools. A dentist then checks every fact against its source and edits the page before it goes live. No page goes live without that human check.
Do companies pay you to mention their products?
No. We do not publish sponsored content and we do not take money or gifts for naming any product, brand or lab.
How can I check that a dentist is registered?
Search the dentist's full name or NMC number on the Nepal Medical Council's registered doctor search at nmc.org.np. Each of our dentist profiles shows the NMC number to search.
